AADHAAR Card Link to LPG Gas Connection Seeding

You can link AADHAAR Card to LPG gas connection online through the UIDAI's portal or by calling LPG gas comapny call center or by sending SMS in a particular format to a specific number provided by LPG gas comapny or by calling and following the instructions on IVRS phone number provided by LPG gas comapny. All Government benefits will now be deposited directly in your bank account that is linked to AADHAAR Card. To avail DBT (direct benefit transfer), AADHAAR Card link to Bank Account is required (except for LPG subsidy for which AADHAAR card is now optional, see below for Pahal DBTL Scheme).

Please Note: Under Pahal DBTL scheme for LPG gas subsidy, government has introduced two option where one can get LPG gas subsidy benefits with or without AADHAAR card. To know more about how to get LPG gas subsidy without AADHAAR card click here: LPG gas subsidy without AADHAAR card.

To get Government benefits, such as subsidy for LPG gas connection, you will need these 3 things:

LPG connection in your own name
A savings bank account in your own name
Your own AADHAAR Card

AADHAAR Card seeding to LPG gas connection can be done online as well as offline. The process mentioned here to link AADHAAR Card to LPG gas connection is similar and applicable to most of the LPG gas connections in India.

To link AADHAAR Card to LPG gas connection online, go to the UIDAI's AADHAAR seeding portal here. On the UIDAI's AADHAAR seeding page click on the "Start Now" button to go to the AADHAAR card link to LPG gas connection application page. On the AADHAAR seeding application page you will be asked to enter your seeding details in 3 steps:

In step 1, select your address location "State" and "District".
In step 2, select the "Benefit Type", e.g. LPG in this case. Choose IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Ltd) as "Scheme Name" for Indane gas connection, BPCL (Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd) for Bharatgas gas connection, etc. Select your "Distributor Name" and finally enter your LPG gas connection "Consumer Number".
In step 3, enter your "Email Id", "Mobile No" and "AADHAAR No". Once you double check your entered seeding details, click on the "Submit" button to submit the form. A confirmation popup message will be shown, click on the "OK" button here. An OTP (One Time Password) will be generated and sent to your entered Mobile No and Email Id.
In step 4, enter the OTP (One Time Password) that you just received on your Mobile No. and Email Id and enter the shown security text and click on the "Submit" button to submit the application. On successful application you should see a popup message that reads "Seeding request added successfully". Click on the "OK" link here.

Linking AADHAAR Card to LPG gas connection using SMS is a 2 step process.

In step 1, register your mobile phone number with LPG gas company by sending an SMS to a specific service request phone number in the prescribed specific format.
In step 2, register your AADHAAR card number with LPG gas company by sending an SMS to the same LPG gas company service request phone number in the prescribed specific format.

Link AADHAAR Card to LPG gas connection using IVRL:

Linking AADHAAR Card to LPG gas connection using IVRL is pretty straight forward process. First get the LPG gas connection service request IVRL phone number from the respective LPG gas comapny's website. Now call this IVRL number and follow the instructions to register your AADHAAR card number with LPG gas company.

Link AADHAAR Card to LPG gas connection offline:

You can also link AADHAAR card to LPG gas connection offline by post or by submitting the paperwork personally to your LPG gas comapny distributors showroom. You will need to download and print the AADHAAR Card to LPG gas connection linking form online from the downloads section of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas website here: Form 2. Fill up the form with the requested details e.g. Consumer Number, Name, Distributor Name, Mobile Number, Address etc. Also attach copy of DGCC/Blue Book or recent cash memo. Your AADHAAR card is considered as Id and Address proof. If you are not residing at the address mentioned in the AADHAAR card, you will also need to attach copy of some alternate proof of address along with AADHAAR card.

Before mailing / submitting the paperwork please check the following are included:

Duly filled "LPG Linking Form"
Photo copy of AADHAAR card or e-AADHAAR card (incase of e-AADHAAR card, fold the paper vertically and keep the left side, the side with your photo and AADHAAR card number) in the space provided in the form
Photo copy of first page of DGCC / Blue Book or recent delivery reciept
Address Proof (Required only in case of your present LPG delivery address is different from address in AADHAAR card)
