AADHAAR Card Documents Required for Changes

UIDAI accepts several "Proof of Identity", "Proof of Address" and "Proof of Date of Birth" documents for AADHAAR card change requests. Below you will find a nationally valid list of supported AADHAAR card change request documents. Please note, you only need to send document for which you intend to make AADHAAR card changes. Depending upon the AADHAAR card change request, a self attested supporting document will needed.

  • To change Name in AADHAAR card a Proof of Identity document is required.
  • To change Address in AADHAAR card a Proof of Address document is required.
  • To change Date of Birth in AADHAAR card a Proof of Date of Birth document is required.

Clearly write your AADHAAR number on all document copies. Your name must be clearly written below the signatures/thumbprint when self attesting the documents.

For children below five years, parent/guardian can fill and sign/provide thumbprint in the AADHAAR card change request form and supporting document copies. Small kids may not have any address proof; in that case submit your own address proof document copy for them.

Many users have difficulty in submitting request for Aadhaar Update, I wish you publish the following explanation prominently to benefit all When you submit a request to update details in Aadhaar, the supporting document has to be self attested and uploaded. It is not enough to take a photocopy and upload. You need to scan the document with self attestation and then the scanned image needs to be digitally signed. Easy way to get the scanned image esigned is to use your DigiLocker account. If you do not have one, get it free. Then log in to DigiLocker account, upload the scanned image, esign it using Aadhhar UTP. Then down load the digitally esigned document and then upload in the self service portal of Aadhaar to complete the update request
